Memmorial Day Weekend
I know i have not posted in a while, but i have been busy doing other hobbies. For one, Ive been busy with my backyard garden, planting and transplanting my veggies, also i have built a raised garden yesterday which came out great and i put all of my carrots in there. Yesterday i purchased some radish seeds, they usually grow pretty well in potted gardens and yield a decent amount. I am also looking forward to completing my greenhouse project and am almost ready to put in the door and window, after that, i will be taking it apart and gluing it together! I am also going to put the tarp over it and find where they sell snap clamps to anchor it down. You may be wondering, who put stuff in the greenhouse during the summer, well, have you thought about the fact that melons, honeydew, and other fruits love the heat and humidity? I never planted fruits before, but this summer it should be a great project.
As for other memorial day activities, Ive been at the beach both Friday and Saturday, Friday being the better day to be there... The water was pretty warm considering we have not had warm weather in a long time. The waves were nice and on Friday when there were no lifeguards there, i used my body board and caught really nice waves. Truly enjoyed being at the beat this early in the year. I do want to take the time out and say that i hope everyone uses their brain and doesn't drink and drive or use drugs and drive, this is one of the three deadliest weekends on the roads according to AAA and other agencies, i don't want to go to any more funerals, so be safe out there!
The rest of the time Ive been sharking around on eBay for DJ/Radio equipment on the cheap so i could start putting together my local radio station. I have already built two 2U-racks for the equipment by hand and i have say they have came out nicely and are very sturdy. I am also shopping around for a decent FM antenna which is hard to come by even on eBay. My Transmitter is already in route to my house as I'm typing. Photography is coming a little bit slower than I'd like, although i have been taking pictures at BBQ's. As you may or may not know i have my Photo Press Pass so I'm also hawking events i may be interested in. I have been blessed to be enjoying these awesome days of the beginning of the summer! If anyone can help me in my hobby ventures, or has any suggestions, please contact me! I will be giving honorable mentions on my radio station once i have it up and running.
I hope everyone is safe, have a great Memorial Day Weekend, And Blessed Be!

Greetings!
I know i havn't posted in a while, but today was my first time doing an actual podcast. It took me a few hours to sit down and record, edit, smooth out, and publish my podcast called "Heroin on Long Island." Please understand that this is the first time im doing this so it is not perfect, i am getting better audio equipment shipped to me as i type this for better recording quality and sound. Any feedback and comments are welcome and enjoy!

The Green House Project Progress
As you can see, the side ribs are finally up! I had to cut down the width from 10 feet to 8 feet i believe. I also lower the side ribs to 7 feet. Added the top ribs at 28.5 Inches on both side and it fits like a glove now. I know it looks like the side wall supports look like they're on the brink of collapse but in fact they are what are holding the ribs for collapsing. I am also going to add a 5th rib at the end closest to the fence. Then i hope to build up the front to make room for a door and a small window on the opposite side. After that all it will take is buying some "Snap Clamps" to hold the polyurethane tarp on and i can begin growing tropical fruits and veggies inside. I will try to post some plans on how to build one from scratch when i am totally done.

Happy Friday 13th
First, I want to take the time out today to send a farewell to someone i knew through association of close friends of mine. She dies on Wednesday at the age of 31, losing her battle against drugs. She is survived by her husband and two young children. Today final farewells will be said, she will no long be imprisoned by her addiction against heroin, she will rise to her maker where she will finally be free. R.I.P. M.T.-S.
Second, i want to say that i have sent my submission to receive my Photographer Press Pass and should be receiving it soon. I am building my portfolio up so that one day i have a chance to make some money off of my hobby. I am also going to be starting my Pod casts/Internet Radio. Hopefully, when i get a job, i can upgrade to a low power FM station in order to raise awareness on drug and alcohol abuse on long island and help people who don't have to die to become sober! I am all doing this out of my own pocket and receiving no funding, i truly want to help people, and this is one of the ways i can see that i could help. Anyway, if anyone has any advice on this topic, feel free to email me at Gdekhtyar@yahoo.com

Accident on Route 101 & Harrison
This Blog Post is in reference to the previous day's post, as i said this area is a hot spot for accidents. Please understand that i don't chase these accidents as i used to, but i always seem to be at the right place and time where i have a window of opportunity to snap a few photographs. My goal here is to provide information for people who want it and also to prevent future accidents by raising awareness on Long Islands #1 killer, the roads!

Local Accidents
The Majority of the fatal accidents have occurred on the stretch on Route 101, North of Sunrise Highway and towards Woodside Avenue in the Bellport Area. I can recall at least five instances where a emergency helicopter had to land directly on Route 101 to lift people to Stony Brook University Hospital. There have also been instances, where i have personally seen, just a white sheet over the human remains after the accident had occurred. I also recall the time when about five or six or teenagers died in a fatal wreck, with alcohol and drugs being a factor, near the sewage treatment plant on Woodside Ave. where now, not even a dead flower stands where once was a huge memorial.
There was an accident that was covered by Newsday about a motorcyclist and a U.P.S. truck where the man was killed on scene, i only know this because back then i had a police scanner where i "chased accidents" and a Newsday reporter/photographer asked if there was any way around the local streets to get closer to the accident scene which was blocked off by police squad cars and about four ambulances due to the graphic nature of the accident, i did not take any pictures back then becuase i did not think it was moral to do so. People forget events and other people, but a picture freezes that event in a timeless capsule which can be brought to the future or past in any one's life.
But now a new day has come, where the i have been educated through my journalism class, to not censor things that the public should be informed about. Also i believe by showing graphic pictures of accidents, people's awareness about driving hazards (locally) will be raised. The Town of Brookhaven has made changes over the years such as reduce the speed limit on Woodside Ave. and making it into one lane from two previous lanes. They should also do this to Route 101 because the Volume, even during the day, is equal if not less to that of Woodside Ave. at the same time.
What i want to conclude with is this: the accidents locally are getting more frequent and even more deadly due to recklessness and ignorance to such occurrences, it is my job as a photographer to tell the story.
UPDATE:
I did not know this, but as i turned on News12 at 11:00pm Tonite, there had been a accident fatality locally near Target in Medford which is about half a mile away from Route 101, i cant tell the story better than the people covering it so i will post the link as follows: Fatal Motorcycle Accident
